Interactive Northwest, Inc. (INI) is pleased to announce the availability of release 2.0 of its software application dispatcher and load balancer, INI EQuilibrium™. Built specifically for the Avaya Voice Portal platform, EQuilibrium is proving to be a beneficial solution for many Voice Portal customers.

A primary capability of EQuilibrium 2.0 is support for Voice Portal releases 4.1 and 5.0, in addition to Voice Portal 5.1. This extends EQuilibrium’s benefits to existing Voice Portal customers with these earlier releases who find themselves in need of application load balancing.

Voice Portal customers who are experiencing difficulty making other load balancing solutions work should consider the effective and easy-to-use EQuilibrium. Voice Portal customers who have supported only a single application server, because of the difficulty of deploying a load balancer, will find EQuilibrium a particularly cost effective way to add a second application server for redundancy. EQuilibrium is also an excellent solution when additional application servers are needed to scale the application solution. EQuilibrium completes the requirement for scale and high availability for the entire Voice Portal platform, extending the same benefits to application servers that the Media Processing Platforms provide for telephony ports.

Avaya does not recommend a specific load balancer for Voice Portal; however, Avaya’s Technicenter contact center has adopted INI EQuilibrium for its own use. Avaya representatives can sell EQuilibrium since INI products are approved for sale by Avaya, and Avaya Professional Services has added installation and configuration of EQuilibrium to its Voice Portal deployment practice. Several Avaya Business Partners also offer EQuilibrium for sale.
